Visiting the San Antonio Clubhouse

Being able to visit the San Antonio Clubhouse was a wonderful opportunity and I'm very grateful for the amazing time we spent there and knowledge we brought back. As I'm still continuing to learn about all that the Clubhouse has to offer, it was so great to see how another operating Clubhouse works!

I can say that it was different than the way ours works. They have a bigger group of members, many more tasks, and different style of food. It was a little overwhelming at times, so much knowledge to take in and so many wonderful faces to meet. But we were able to take in everything we enjoyed and made it into our own and we were ready to try and implement ideas we brought back into our Clubhouse.

Although there were many differences, I couldn't help but also find so many similarities. The bonds between the members and staff reminded me so much of home. The way that our Clubhouse feels like a family, members aren't only able to count on staff but also on each other. We all have something special we share every day and I was so happy to also see that in San Antonio.

Overall the trip was delightful but I have to say by the end of the trip I was definitely home sick! I'm so thankful for the opportunity but also for the way we do our own things here, our delicious food, and our family at our Clubhouse!
